Marlow EV

“I have to say I am huge LS3/5A fan owning Jim Rogers actual pair my Dad bought from him. A pair of Kef, another pair of 15 ohm Rogers, etc. But these Marlow EVs are just a better speaker. With just my trusty Quad 34/FM4/306 playing a Bokrand, custom, long Decca tonearm and an old ffss MKII mounted on an NOS Brodcast International 12C idler table I designed, the sound is totally captivating natural and musical. I get as much musical satisfaction as my restored Quad 57’s/DNM reference combo.” – Robin Wyatt, RobyattAudio

“I am reminded no less of my Quad 2805s or, more precisely, the original ESL 57 … It is a rare speaker that fetches this degree of acoustic information without sounding etched.” – customer testimonial on our blog

The Marlow EV uses the same Eikona wideband driver and classic cabinet as the standard Marlow but adds improved enclosure damping and a specially-tailored equalisation circuit to balance the frequency response slightly.

The result is a Marlow which sounds much more like the Greenwich. It loses none of the standard Marlow’s  delicacy and speed, but sounds bigger, more solid, and with an improved balance between the bass, midrange and treble.

It does this without any damage to the music signal, which remains as pure, fast and musical as before.

The Marlow EV features critically-damped 9mm cabinet walls, together with Tom Evans pure copper binding posts and cables. The equalisation circuit uses high-quality components sourced in the UK and Europe.

Each pair is hand-built to order and has a five-year warranty.

The Marlow EV is available in walnut and tamo ash real wood veneers.

Marlow EV Review

The Marlow EV received a Highly Recommended rating from Howard Milstein at The Sound Advocate, who went on to say  “… the sound was smooth, natural, and exceedingly accurate in its frequency response with exceptionally precise stereo imaging aspects. You could pinpoint each singer in the soundscape as well as the orchestral instruments behind them.” To read the full review, click here.
